Owner and winemaker
Adam's passion for wine started in one of the world's great wine regions, Germany's Mosel Valley. Living for 2 years in a small winemaking village nestled between steep sloped Riesling vineyards while on assignment for NATO, he developed a deep appreciation for not only wine, but its makers, its culture, and its veritable impact on community. The seed was planted and it stayed with him. After an 8-year career as an Air Force officer and stints running logistics for some of Michigan's most prominent manufacturers, he finally made the dream of running a winery/vineyard a reality. With an MBA from Michigan State and formal wine education through Napa Valley Wine Academy and the Wine and Spirits Education Trust (Level 3 Award with Distinction) under his belt, he purchased Hickory Creek Winery in September 2017. Adam has two daughters, Olivia (11) and Lillian (9). He is currently a student in the Viticulture and Enology Program at Lake Michigan College. Currently, his favorite wines are complex white varietals like our 2017 Viognier and our 2017 Pinot Gris, refreshing and full of character. His go-tos for food and drinks in the area would be The Peasant's Pantry (Sawyer), Lake Street Eats (Bridgman), The Livery (Benton Harbor), Mesa Luna (Sawyer) and Journeyman (Three Oaks).

Originally from Kentucky and now living in South Bend, Jeffrey DeAngelis has been a fixture at Hickory Creek Winery since 2009. When he isn't running around behind the scenes doing just about everything (calmly, we might add), he can be found in the tasting room running our customer-facing operations. Jeffrey is an avid distance runner and a huge fan of premier league soccer, among other sports. His favorite Hickory Creek offering was the 2011 Cab Franc, recently sold out. His favorite local spot is Silver Beach Pizza in St Joe.

Senior tasting consultant
Jamie was born and raised in West Michigan, but his career and travels have taken him to some of the finest wine regions in the world. He has considerable experience running restaurant operations and is very comfortable behind the bar, pouring wines and entertaining guests with his sense of humor that we say "is as dry as some of our wines." Jamie has been a part of the winery since 2015. His favorite Hickory Creek wine is the 2016 Dry Riesling. If asked for a restaurant recommendation, he would point you toward Mesa Luna in Sawyer for an amazing dinner.

Marketing manager and tasting room consultant
A resident of Kalamazoo and the newest addition to the Hickory Creek team, Chris will be taking care of visitors in the tasting room during the winery's peak seasons. He has a profound love for wine, especially from Michigan, and a great interest in learning as much as he can about the subject. He and his wife have a goal of visiting every tasting room in the state. During the week he serves as the Marketing Director for an area college and brings some of that expertise to the Hickory Creek brand. Chris is obsessed with the 2017 Viognier and is anxiously awaiting the release of the 2017 Chambourcin.
